Matlock Bath: Heights of Abraham 04 (August 2008)

Not far from the summit three of the cars (there are 4 sets of 3 in total clamped to the continuous wire rope) approach a cable tower. For the passengers the scariest part of the journey is over
as the route from here is close to the hillside and the summit station is not far away to right of camera. This system was installed in 2004 and replaced one that first began in the early 1980's with
smaller more cramped cars. These newer cars have far more room and are fitted with floor to ceiling glass - which adds to the sense of drama when dangling high up over the valley floor!
