Almost 3 years to the day (after the
previous photo) and this time it's 37430 passing through Tywyn with the Pwllheli - Euston train. This time i had no rush as there was a very
long wait for a Pwllheli bound Sprinter to pass through before 37430 could depart. Seen here in Intercity Mainline Livery (only applied in June
that year) this was originally 37265 which was rebuilt as a 37/4 (and renumbered 37430) in November 1985. The name "Cwmbran" was applied in
1986. Stored from 2000, 37430 was then designated as a spares donor in 2003.
As a footnote, Tywyn station has since changed quite a lot since this photo, especially the old goods yard area (on the
right) which has since become a supermarket site. |
