Last in the line after 37204 was 37194. This loco
went on to wear the RF Grey livery (and in 1990 was named "British International Freight Association") before being stored as "unserviceable"
and was destined for disposal by 1999. For most loco's this would have meant the scrap yard, but for 37194 a new chapter in its life began
when it arrived at Barrow Hill (with a now very faded and tatty RF livery) where it would reside for the next two years until it became part
of the Harry Needle Rail Company Ltd (HNRC) and was painted in HNRC Yellow livery during October 2002. Then, in Febuary 2005, it was acquired
by DRS for nuclear trafic work. Now, in 2006, 44 years after it left English Electric (Robert
Stephenson & Hawthorns) as D6894, this loco is still earning its keep. |
