37106 again, this time with 37002, approaching
Killingholme airfield crossing on a red hot hazy day. Originally numbered D6806 (an English Electric Vulcan Foundry 37) 37106 was an Immingham
loco at the time of this photo (since 1985) and would return again (for a year only) in 1992, before the almost obligatory class 37 adventure
across the border to Scotland for a year. By the end of the nineties 37106 was in poor shape, ending up stored at Wigan in 1999 (being
plundered for spares, including its windscreens!) and then meeting the scrap metal torch a year later. |
