[Pic 2] Conglog - Incline (May 1990)

Conglogs one and only incline - apart from its summit, this is lightly made but its course is still obvious, but not of great length. I'm not too sure what the need for the (later) extension to the drum house was for - a small mystery. This level seen here was - at one time - the main working level and behind the drum house is another adit into the workings.

[Pic 6] Conglog - Valley view (May 1990)

Taken from just above the inlcine head, pic 6 shows a fine view back down Cwm Orthin. Clearly seen from here is the mill layout, plus the Rhosydd barracks to the left, and in amongst the trees (middle left) is the remains of Cwmorthin quarries managers house 'Plas Cwmorthin'. Note the clearly defined route of the tramway to Cwmorthin.

[Pic 7] Conglog - Opened chamber (May 1990)

Above the incline summit level there is this opened out chamber (with seveal others close by) which has left the worked away adit somewhat stranded.
* [Pic 8] Conglog - Old Upper adit (May 1990) *

[Pic 8] Conglog - Old Upper adit (May 1990)

This old upper adit is probably part of a trial level (there is only a small isolated waste tip leading from it) but is classic minimilist mining - no frills, just a few old rails propping up cut waste rocks laid to form a protective roof over the entrance.
