 By the time this photo was taken the sun was almost set on a damp grey day (typical Ffestiniog weather
! ) and my faithfull Pentax really didn't like low light too much - hence it's not the best pic ever taken - but it does show the view looking down
the Tan Y Grisiau Incline. This was a twin tracked gravity incline that met with the Ffestiniog Railway right at its base in a very confined area
which appears to have left very little room for holding sidings. The stone bridge carrying Dolrhedyn road can be seen crossing the incline part way up.
Dominating the view is the artificial Llyn Ystradau (under which lies to old route of the FR) and the Hydro Electric power station. Also of note is
the line on the hillside (top right) which is the number 2 incline of the Moelwyn Qry system.
